Mesch Capital Management, Inc: On Market Profile
Continuing our series of videos of lectures recorded at IFTA’s annual conference held in London in October 2014, I give you one of my favourites: Robin Mesch, who founded the firm and is a veteran US futures trader. Not only does she know her subject inside-out and back-to-front, she speaks clearly, is well-paced, and manages to draw in her audience.
I’m not in the least bit surprised that she, like so many in North America, favour Market Profile – maybe because it was developed there for exchange traded derivatives. Kicking off with a graphic explanation in how we can develop neural pathways – and possibly a clever little party trick for you – she explains how these help us structure our perceptions.
Many will agree that the method is a strongly visual map plotting the progression of value. The famous Peter Steidlmayer (www.Wiley.com) believed his method, which she calls ‘price usage charts’, is the DNA of the market. They help traders decide whether a price is fair and when it’s time to reassess.
Rather than laboriously outlining the basics, she steams right into its more advanced concepts and. If you need an introduction, buy Steidlmayer on Markets. I hope you’ll enjoy both as much as I did.
