Keval Dhokia
Keval has been in the commodities trading and research industry for over a decade. He began his career in metals and mining technical and fundamental research at firms including FastMarkets and Wood Mackenzie, focussing on short-term analysis and forecasting of London Metal Exchange contracts, for clients in the hedge fund and investment banking industry. This was followed by S&P Global, where he was responsible for copper price and mining project analysis. He also has experience in more niche EV battery-minerals-price forecasting, such as lithium and cobalt.
More recently, he was Group Commodities & FX Risk Manager at Associated British Foods PLC’s Sugar division, the second largest sugar producer in the World. He was pivotal in building the sugar and wheat derivatives trading desk, and designing technical-analysis-based price and stop targets, for the firm’s hedging and risk-management framework. He also advocated for using charting techniques for long-term strategic decision making at Board-level.
As well as joining the STA as Company Secretary, Keval is the author of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment’s (CISI) Derivatives textbooks, which are required reading for the CISI’s FCA-approved trading qualifications.
