Dr Marcus du Sautoy OBE
Marcus du Sautoy is the Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of New College. Marcus is an outstanding communicator. Du Sautoy is author of the best-selling popular mathematics book “The Music of the Primes”, which has been translated into 10 languages. His book “Finding Moonshine: a mathematician’s journey through symmetry” was long-listed for the Samuel Johnson Prize for non-fiction. In his more recent book, “The Number Mysteries”, he talks about shapes of footballs, teabags, snowflakes, coastlines, viruses and abstract paintings.
Du Sautoy is frequently asked for comment on BBC radio and television. In his 2011 series The Code (UK BBC), Marcus reveals a hidden numerical code that underpins all nature. A code that has the power to explain everything, from the numbers and shapes we see all around us to the rules that govern our own lives. We are delighted that Marcus du Sautoy will be helping us to unravel the DNA of the market.
