Chris has spent his City career in the bond markets, market making and proprietary trading. He has been a member of the STA for over 20 years. He started as a stock jobber with Ackroyd and Smithers, then led a team on the LIFFE floor, before spells in senior positions at Credit Lyonnais, IBJ, the UK trading arm of Helaba, and then the proprietary trading desk at Moscow Narodny Bank. He recently joined his old colleague Ian Williams.

STA Monthly Meeting March 2008 The Current Outlook for the Corporate Bond Market & Investment Climate Ahead

Ian and Chris will between them cover the relative prospects of gilt edged and other fixed interest markets, and will explain the main methods of analysis, principally on trends and cycles. With the continuing travails of credit markets, and the spill-over into corporate bonds, this is all too topical, even to those whose focus is elsewhere! Coverage of the wider picture will even include gold.
