Market Technician Issue 83 – September 2017
I don’t know about you but my email use is fairly chaotic. Not only do I have two Gmail accounts – I could of course have more but I struggle as it is – but as well as my mobile phone I can access these on three different computers. Half the time I can’t remember which ones I’ve read and which ones have been dealt with. Then add in the fact that I’m a journalist and, despite fire walls and other blocking devices, I often receive about 100-200 unsolicited messages per day.
I’m telling you all this because at last week’s STA monthly meeting I saw that the latest issue of our Market Technician magazine had come out. The lovely cover features two enthusiastic members taking part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge on a very hot afternoon in Battersea Park. Yours truly was there covering the event.
Networking after the talk I realised I was not the only one who had not seen it in her inbox. Not spotting incoming mail is easily done, but when you write the Editor’s Letter, that doesn’t really cut the mustard. It was there, and I found it, but if for any reason other members have not received theirs, do contact the admin team at info@sta-uk.org
Settling down with a cup of tea I was delighted to see that there were fifty-odd pages of research, and now news, reviews, upcoming events, and other articles of general interest to technical analysts. Sad to hear that Dr Frank Pruden had died, a popular man who has done so much to promote and teach our speciality.
As always the research articles have been written by acknowledged market veterans and experts, and we are very lucky to have contributors of this calibre. I might also add that the graphs and tables are very clear and, when printed, come out well. This may sound silly but it’s imperative that we can view these properly so that they illustrate the text.
Finally, a big congrats to all our truly global, successful, candidates who passed their STA Diploma exams.
PS: Suggestions as to how to spruce up my mail box gratefully received.
